Stay on budget during the holidays with Numbrs

Summer is here! Build memories that will last a lifetime without breaking the bank. Here’s how...

The key to achieving your financial goals is to stick to your plan, and we know that it is hard to stay on track, especially during the summer holidays. So if you want to make the most out of your holidays and not worries, follow the tips below:

Create a saving goal

First you save, then you spend. The first thing you need to do is to create a saving goal. Try to be realistic and give yourself enough time to save.
With Numbrs you can easily create “saving goals”. Set the amount you wish to save and we will tell you how close you are to achieving your goal.
If you’re like me, and like to keep your savings in a separate account, you can also use filters in Numbrs to exclude your day to day bank account from the calculation.

Create a “Travel and Holiday” budget

One the greatest features of Numbrs is the automatic categorisation of your transactions, where every purchase you make is instantly given a category and allows you to track how much you are spending on shopping, groceries…without having to do anything.

But what is also great about the categorisation, is that you have the possibility to manually change the assigned category for more control.
Now what I like to do when traveling is to recategorise all my expenses under the “Travel” category. This way I can see in real time how much I have spent during my holidays, and how much I still have left.

In summary for worry free holidays:

1- Create a saving Goal & monitor how much you saved

2- Create a “Holiday” budget to the amount you were able to save

3- Categorise your spendings under the “Holiday” budget if needed

4- Enjoy your holidays!
