On Friday, we introduced our new business model based on a subscription plan in Germany and Great Britain. Since then we have received a lot of positive feedback, but also questions that we would like to answer in more detail in this blog post.
Our mission is to help all of our users to live a healthier financial life and to develop the best finance app on the market. Today, almost 100 engineers, designers, product managers, and many more work tirelessly to provide the best possible app quality. Our team is committed to continuously improve the app and the quality of service. With our newest update, we deliver features such as:
- Neo: Our new AI technology for analysing financial data
- Data Lock
- Improved Financial Report
- Improved Notifications
- Learn more about each feature here...
Why did we change the business model?
The reason why we have been able to offer Numbrs free of charge up to now was the commission-based brokerage of financial products (such as accounts, loans, insurance, credit cards) of traditional banks and insurance companies. We made the conscious decision to stop the brokerage model and to switch to a subscription model in order to guarantee you 100% privacy and 100% neutrality.
Numbrs is not a bank. We neither sell banking products nor do we cooperate with banks. Our neutrality assures that we have only one goal – to help you get the best out of your finances. Independent of banks and without conflict of interest. You can see and experience our neutrality in many features of the app. One example is our feature “Report”:
Facts and “numbers” (Numbrs) should always be the foundation of any financial decision. Not the opinion of a third party, a financial advisor or a bank. Reliable and neutral data are the very basis for an educated decision and every feature of the Numbrs app is aimed at that. Numbrs deploys advanced machine learning algorithms to create automatic reports on your finances. The feature Finance Report helps you to identify trends in your income and spendings so you can independently decide which way you want to go.
If a service is for free, the user is not the customer but rather the product – instead of money you are paying with your data. Apps that are financed by advertising, for example, depend on the collection or sale of user data in order to show targeted advertising.
Our business model is not based on the sale or collection of user data. Numbrs will not display advertising, nor do we create a data profile about your activities. Our neutrality prevents access to your information by banks and insurance companies for advertising purposes.
Conclusively, we believe keeping an overview of your finances is as important as taking care of your health. So we believe that managing personal finances is more important than, for instance, streaming movies or music – and yet the subscription model is already common sense in these industries.
Starting at a monthly fee of € 7.49, users can leverage the Numbrs App to the full extent and thus experience guaranteed data protection and 100% neutrality.
With this blog post we hope we could explain a little bit better why we introduced the subscription model. If you have any remaining questions you can always contact our support team via the chat in the app and via Support@numbrs.com.
