New investors from Asia back Numbrs and an additional affiliation with Chinese investors moves forward

This week, a group of respected business persons from Singapore have joined the list of notable investors backing our company. A cluster of families has completed the due diligence process at our headquarters in Zurich and signed a significant equity investment. Additional members from the same group of families will soon follow suit with their respective investments.

The event signifies the increasing interest of investors from Asia to join the ranks of those recognising the potential of our digital banking platform Numbrs and its continued development. The new investors from Singapore followed the example of prior investors from the Middle East — namely, the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Dubai (ICD).

We will be engaging with additional investors from Asia later this year when Martin Saidler is set to attend an opening ceremony event in Guangdong, China, where the Technion of Israel will open a new campus, formally titled the “Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology”. Martin Saidler was personally invited by the President of the Technion, Professor Peretz Lavie, to attend the event on December 18.

The foundation of the Guangdong Technion is supported by the Guangdong government, the city of Shantou and the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF). It will facilitate improved education, research and innovation in engineering as well as life science research in the Guangdong province of China. The plan is to make the Guangdong Technion a world-class international technological university campus carrying out innovative research that will encourage entrepreneurship as well as technology transfers.

The Technion recently made headlines with its globally leading engineering campus on New York City’s Roosevelt Island. The campus was built in collaboration with Cornell University and is officially titled the “Cornell New York Tech, Home of the Technion-Cornell Institute of Innovation”. Numbrs founder Martin Saidler will attend the opening ceremony in New York later in October.

Martin Saidler’s family office “Saidler & Co.” will subsidise some of the Technion’s research and scientific initiatives.
