Centralway Numbrs wins FinTechGermany Award

The Swiss technology company Centralway Numbrs AG won the “best foreign Fintech company on the German market” award.

The Golden Garage Award is given in six categories by the associations Business Angels FrankfurtRheinMain e.V., Frankfurt Main Finance e.V., TechFluence and the WM Group (stock-exchange journal).

“Centralway Numbrs has impressed us massively and clearly asserted itself against strong European as well as transatlantic competition, not only with its highly innovative products but also with its outstanding financing, scaling and value creation,” said Andreas Lukic, chairman of Business Angels FRM e.V., chairman of the panel of judges and award coordinator.

“It is a special honour to receive an award from experts of our own industry. This award highlights the credibility and benefits of our approach to our Numbrs Store,” said Øyvind Oanes, Centralway Numbrs AG’s CEO.

1.5 million downloads

With 1.5 million downloads and 1.5 million managed bank accounts, the Centralway Numbrs app is Germany’s most popular independent banking app. At the beginning of the year, the company extended its app by the Numbrs Store. Using this platform, users can compare financial products from various banks and conclude contracts directly in the app.

“Over the past three years, we have developed a technologically advanced platform to benefit both consumers and banks alike. Our users have a better overview of their financial situation and can lower their spending in line with their personal finances. While banks, for their part, can open up completely new distribution channels and customer segments without complication and free of charge,” said Oanes.

Investment capital of 125 million US dollars

The company is currently working on its international expansion. In the UK, the app is already in beta phase. The company has US$ 125 million of investment capital. Investors include Sir Ronald Cohen (founder of private equity and venture-capital company Apax Partners and pioneer in investments with social or environmental benefits) and the Pierre Mirabaud family (founding family of the eponymous private bank) as well as the Investment Corporation of Dubai, the most important investment arm of the Arab Emirate, Dubai.

The Golden Garage Award is the leading investor-based founder-award for Fintech and Insurtech companies in Germany. The panel of judges is made up of private investors as well as financial, regulatory, capital market and Fintech experts. The award goes to winners coming under six different categories: seed/early-stage, later stage, growth stage, the best foreign Fintech on the German market as well as the special categories, which include blockchain and Insurtech companies.
